The technical SEO checklist for B2B websites
Speed, crawlability and structure are still the foundation. A practical checklist for B2B sites that need to be understood by search engines and AI alike.

Technical SEO is unglamorous and it is where most B2B sites quietly lose visibility. The good news is that the fixes are finite.
Start with what blocks discovery
- A sitemap that lists every page you want found, and nothing you do not.
- A robots file that is not accidentally blocking your best content.
- Clean, stable URLs with permanent redirects for anything you move.
- Server-rendered content so crawlers see the same page a visitor does.
Then fix what slows people down
Compress and size your images, defer anything that is not needed for first paint, and keep third-party scripts on a short leash. Most B2B sites can halve their load time without a redesign.
Finally, make meaning explicit
One H1 per page, descriptive headings, alt text that says what the image shows, and structured data where it genuinely applies. This is how a machine understands the page rather than pattern-matching it.
